But do you even know what the term rights mean?
Definition of the term Right
Right: Rights are legal, social, or ethical principles of freedom or entitlement; that is, rights are the fundamental normative rules about what is allowed of people or owed to people according to some legal system, social convention, or ethical theory.
Rights of a Citizen
1. Freedom to express yourself
2. Freedom to worship
3. The right to vote in elections for public officials.
4. Right to life
5. Right to a fair trial by jury
With the Entitlement of Rights there are Responsibilities.
Definition of the term Responsibility
Responsibility: A responsibility is something you are expected to do. A responsibility might be a task you are expected to do. For example, your parents expect you to brush your teeth. Brushing your teeth is “a responsibility” and it is your responsibility to brush your teeth every day.
Responsibilities of a Citizen
1.Pay his/her share of tax that is levied for the good of
the community.
2. Obey the laws of the land.
3. Serve as a witness in the court if summoned.
4. Serving on a jury if called
5. Being well informed on current affairs or issues
